Kopi Luwak: The Most Exclusive Coffee Experience
Kopi Luwak is celebrated as the most expensive coffee in the world, a distinction that underscores its unique and luxurious allure. This coffee is sourced from a cooperative of farmers, each owning a small plot of land dedicated to supporting their family and cultivating this rare coffee. These farms provide a natural habitat for the Asian Civet, which freely selects the ripest coffee cherries, enhancing the beans with a unique flavor profile through natural digestive processes.
Nestled in the Gayo region, the farmers’ lands are also cultivated with bananas and tropical fruits, providing shade and sustenance for the coffee trees. This integration promotes a balanced ecosystem where civets can thrive and naturally process the coffee cherries, believed to yield the best flavor due to the stress-free environment and natural enzymatic influence.
Due to the specialized production process, Kopi Luwak is roasted in 3 lb batches. As such, orders need to meet the required batch size to ensure that each roast is as fresh and flavorful as possible.
